Kathmandu. Ravi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA), has commented that the signs shown by the government at the beginning have shocked him. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said this while speaking on the vote of confidence proposal in the House of Representatives.
There was a belief that he would move forward peacefully in the matter of good governance. But my faith wavered. The way the government was formed, the way things progressed. A vote of confidence could have been given. But the signs that were seen at the beginning, startled us. As soon as the government started, the subject we were investigating, someone who had missed out on attendance, was singing a song in Balkot. While the investigation of the land of Bansbari leather shoe factory was going on, the sound of the song came from Balkot, he said.
Participating in the discussion on Prime Minister Oli's proposal to take a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives, Lamichhane recalled that he played a role in making the previous reconciliation because he wanted to work with Oli. He said that his belief that Oli will ruthlessly move forward in good governance is shaken.
"It is not because the government has changed, it is not because we have to leave the government," he said.
He said that even in the formation of the Council of Ministers, they had raised the issue, and they were given awards. "Investigation has started again in the fake Bhutanese refugee camp, the country knows very well who went to the cabinet," he said pointing to Foreign Minister Arju Deuba Rana.
"We raised the issue of the kindergarten, there is also an award. We raised the issue of scouts, we looked at the cabinet again,' he continued, 'wherever we raised the issue, how can we believe when we get awards there?'
However, Prime Minister Oli said that he will stay in the opposition based on his merits and demerits as promised in the parliament. Raswap Chairman Lamichhane said, "We said that we would start an investigation into 25 scandals. I want to appeal for the continuation of this decision."
