Nepali Youth in Portugal Dies of Covid-19

A 27-year-old Nepali youth, Tilak Bahadur Rana, breathed his last because of coronavirus infection in Portugal. According to his family, Rana contracted the flu-like infection and died in course of treatment at a hospital in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon.

Rana, originally from Tanahu district of Nepal, had been working in Portugal for two years. He was also suffering from pneumonia besides the deadly infection.


He was being treated in an isolation facility where he succumbed to the Coronavirus, said the Rana family. Earlier, a Nepali woman had lost her life to COVID-19 in Portugal.

The Non-Resident Nepali’s Association Portugal’s President Tilak Gaire and Honorary Consul General to Portugal Makar Hamal said that the demise of Rana has deeply saddened the Nepalis in Portugal.
